1. REBRAND INSTA ACCOUNT AND LAUNCH A BLOG
Starting newly married life, I wanted to document my journey in a new way through longer-form content to also get my mindset back to writing. Working with numbers in the day-job has been really draining my creativity so I feel like a blog will also help with my mental health. This will work alongside a rebrand of the insta account to Berry Budgets.
2. WRITE A CHRISTMAS GIFTING BUDGET
I'm terrible for overspending on family and friends at Christmas time, a goal for this month is to set up a spreadsheet along with gifts already bought, a budget for each person and a budget tracker. I'm affirming that I will not go overboard and I will also not buy pointless gifts this year.
3. 15 'NO SPEND DAYS'
I think this one will be slightly harder as I will have spent the first 8 days of the month on my honeymoon and spending on food etc is necessary. I am aiming for 15 no spend days in total though. This will not include bills, grocery shopping or essentials.
4. LIST 15 CLOTHING ITEMS ON VINTED
I need a MAJOR declutter of my wardrobe and the extra pennies to help towards the debt! I already have a large box of items I need to list, i just keep putting it off! I do already have a ton of stuff listed on my profile, but I have so much more...I blame the undiagnosed ADHD. So for this month, I'm setting myself a target of listing 15 items. My main worry around achieving this goal is lighting for photos, I'll be going to work in the dark and coming home in the dark! Maybe that's going to be a job for a weekend...
5. TRY TO SELL SOME WEDDING BITS
I had the most magical wedding day back in October and it was everything I could have ever dreamed of, matching my Pinterest boards perfectly! But now I've had my day, it's time to give some of the decor a new home or help someone else's autumnal wedding dreams come true! This goal is only to 'try' because it's now out of the season for autumnal weddings so this may be better placed in the new year as couples prep for their 2024 days!
6. RESET THE BUDGET FOR 2024
I've not done bad sticking to my budget throughout the year, I most certainly could have been better but some months my priorities changed and I didn't reflect that in my budget list or sinking funds. As we draw to the end of 2023, I want to ensure that a budget is in place for the entirety of 2024 so we have a plan, but one that is adaptable should circumstances change.
7. RECALCULATE THE DEBT TRACKER
I've used Debt Payoff Planner for years to track my debt and my estimated debt fee dates, but I want to do this on a spreadsheet so we can actively track both incomes, expenditure and payments to debt so we know realistically when we will be debt free. This will probably tie in nicely with resetting the 2024 budget.
So, those are my 7 goals for November, make sure you come back in December to see how many I have achieved! If you're reading this before the end of November then you know I've achieved at least one of my goals this month by being on the blog!
